Motion Sensor

Motion sensor lighting controls are a type of lighting control system that uses motion sensors to detect movement and turn lights on or off automatically. These systems are a popular choice for both residential and commercial applications because they can help to save energy and improve security.

How Motion Sensor Lighting Controls Work

Motion sensor lighting controls typically consist of three main components:

    • A motion sensor: This is the device that detects movement. Motion sensors can be based on a variety of technologies, such as passive infrared (PIR), microwave, or ultrasonic.
    • A control unit: This is the device that receives the signal from the motion sensor and controls the lights. The control unit may also have other features, such as a timer or a dimmer.
    • Lights: These are the lights that are controlled by the motion sensor. Motion sensor lighting controls can be used with any type of light, including incandescent, fluorescent, LED, and halogen.

When a motion sensor detects movement, it sends a signal to the control unit. The control unit then turns on the lights. The lights will stay on for a predetermined amount of time, after which they will automatically turn off.
